Wickersham repeats win

 

Bernie Wickersham, this time partnered with Jerry Skocelas (not pictured), won the 5th week's play with 24 points on the Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Light at Southern Hills Country Club May 18, 2011. The win makes two in succession for Wickersham who was victorious the previous week playing with Peter Grima at Ironwood Golf Course. In the win Skocelas and Wickersham overcame two bogeys with 4 birdies and 3 pars totaling 24 points on the Tour's modified Stableford scoring system. The Scramble Tour plays a 20 week season and counting a player's 16 best weeks towards the championship. Early season point totals shows Jerry Skocelas leading with 85..

Scramble Tour at Ironwood 5-11-2011

The team of Peter Grima and Bernie Wickersham scored 24 points to take the win at the Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Light at Ironwood Golf Course on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. The pair skipped a shot across the lake to make birdie on number 9 and gain first place prizes courtesy of the host course. Belle Acres hosts the 3rd stop on the 2011 Scramble Tour

John Butler (the smoocher) and Chuck Rossow (right) were winners of closest to the pin prizes provided by Belle Acres Golf Course which hosted the 3rd stop on the Scramble Tour May 4, 2011.

Playing the 3rd week of the Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Light John Butler (right) teamed with Jim Krautkramer to score 28 points on the Belle Acres course and capture the win from among the 25 players who teed it up and played. The pair made an eagle, 3 birdies, 3 pars , and 2 bogies to comprise the 28 total points.

Benson, Null win opening round of 2011 Scramble Tour

Robert Null and Michael Benson emerged the winners after a putt-off among three teams in the first week of the Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Light played on the White Plains golf course April 20, 2011. Benson and Null combined to score 24 points and tie with two other teams; Bob Dillon and Bill Hicks, Bernie Wickersham and Justin Jackson. Complete results can been seen by clicking here.

26 players competed in a two-man best ball scramble format using a modified Stableford system. The winning duo failed to score a point on one hole but made up the deficit with an eagle (8 points each), 2 birdies (4 points each), 3 pars (2 points each), and 2 bogies (1 point each) for a total of 24. The putt-off was conducted in the dark with a cell phone used to light the target pin for Benson to putt a ball the closest for the win.

The Tour welcomed 7 new players for the opening round.; joining were Bill Hicks, Harry McGugin, John Swift, John Cunningham, Bernie Wickersham, Mike Hughes, and David Moore.

Cookeville Golf Club will host the Tour on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Draw for teams will begin at 4:50 p.m. and tee time is 5 p.m. New players are always welcome.

 

Bob Underhill will be missed

Bob Underhill, age 70

Bob Underhill, a member of the Scramble Tour passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, in Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Bob played regularly with the tour and his calm presence on the course and cheerful smile will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Scramble Tour Heads to Final at CGC

The Scramble Tour, Sponsored by Miller Light played its final regular season round here with Shane McCloud and Bryan Lynchard topping the field at 30 points. Krautkramer and Butler Win Scramble Tour stop at White Plains
