Scramble Tour Season Week 10

(L-R): Neal Scalf, Harold Penley

(L-R): Neal Scalf, Harold Penley

COOKEVILLE GOLF CLUB – Neal Scalf and Harold Penley teamed to win the 10th week of play on the Scramble Tour. The two carded three birdies and six pars to total 24 pts and win a nine hole round of golf each provided by the host course, Cookeville Golf Club. Penley and Scalf looked to be in danger of making bogey on their last hole after wayward tee shots on the par 3 3rd hole. Left with 45 -50 yard pitch over a cart path and a bunker they managed to get it to about 5 feet and save par with the putt.

The week’s round was closely contested with two teams scoring 22 pts. and another at 21. See all the results here. The Tour added something new this week. A drawing for a “door” prize. This week’s winner was Neal Scalf, receiving a folding portable drinks table from one of the tour sponsors, Miller Lite.

The Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Lite plays the Cookeville area golf courses on a rotating basis. A random draw each week determines teams and a modified Stableford system is used for scoring. White Plains Golf Course is the host for the July 8, 2009 event. Tee time is 5 p.m. and new players are always welcome.
