SOUTHERN HILLS – June 24, 2009.  John Trusa and Sean Monday led all teams by a wide margin after completion of the 9th week of play on the Scramble Tour here. The pair made a bogey but added 3 pars and bagged 6 birdies to total 27 points. The next best score was 21 posted by Dale Hair and Robert Null. The leader board and complete scoring can be viewed by clicking here.

Prior to this week’s play, the members of the Scramble Tour honored one of its players who will be unable to play the rest of the season. Alan Brown who plays despite loosing one leg to cancer, will be spending the next 2 months in Vanderbilt Hospital undergoing further treatment for the disease. The Tour, through the efforts of Sean Monday, presented Alan with gift cards and meal coupons from Crawdaddy’s West Side Grill, Chilie’s, Cheddars, O’Charley’s, Red Lobster, Outback Steakhouse West End Ave Nashville, and Applebee’s to be used by him and his family while Alan is in the hospital. Members also donated to Alan’s cause. We wish him well and expect him to return to golf soon. Check this site in the future for a full story on Alan.

The Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Lite plays the Cookeville area golf courses on a rotating basis. A random draw each week determines teams and a modified Stableford system is used for scoring. Cookeville Golf Club is the host for the July 1, 2009 event. Tee time is 5 p.m. and new players are always welcome.
