Jr. Parrigan, James Henley, and Bill Schaffner teamed to score 8 under par and win the Tuesday ABCD at Belle Acres Golf Course in Cookeville, TN. Winning the closest to the pin prize was Bill Toye with a shot finishing only 31″ from the hole. The scramble plays each Tuesday at 4. Call 931-526-8834 to reserve your spot.

Ryan Allison Wins Closest with Hole In One!

BELLE ACRES – Ryan Allison’s 120 yard shot at the number nine here was as close as one can get, right in the cup! He not only scored the hole in one but also won the closest to the pin prize and was a member of the winning team. Of course his eagle, helped his team to their 9 under winning score on Monday August 24, 2009.

Week 17 Scramble Tour

WHITE PLAINS GOLF COURSE – Despite earlier rain and a threatening nearby storm the Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Lite completed its round with Dustin Reels and Bob Weaver winning the week’s honors at 22 points. Robert Null and Bryan Lynchard scored 21 to take second place. Complements of White Plains Golf Course the winners each received a certificate for nine holes of play. Dale Hair was the lucky winner of the week’s door prize.

The Tour plays a 20 week schedule rotating among the area courses and each player accumulates points toward a season championship counting the player’s 16 best weekly scores. See the current standings here. The next round is scheduled for Ironwood Golf Course on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Tee Time is 5 p.m. New players are always welcome.

Monday Couples at “The Belle” See Close Scores

BELLE ACRES GOLF COURSE – The August 17, 2009 Monday Couples scramble here resulted in just one stroke separating first and second place. The top spot went to the team of Logan Rittenberry, Sue Randolph, Amy Saylors, and Landon Gaw with a 6 under par score while second at 5 under was Diane Brown, Johnny Reels, Vickie Callahan, Jr Parrigan. Amy Saylor took the closest to the hole prize with a shot stopping 18′ 8 ” from the hole.

Reels and Null Win Week 16

MOUNTAIN RIDGE – Dustin Reels and Robert Null teamed to win the 16th week on the Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Lite. The pair eagled the par 5 10th hole and added 3 pars and three birdies to help negate 2 bogeys and total 28 points on the modified Stableford system the Tour uses. Two other teams scored 21 points and another tallied 20 to take fourth place.

The win by such a wide margin vaulted Null into 3rd place in the season long championship chase. Reels is now tied for 4th place. Neil Scalf leads the points total with 276, Harold Penley is second. This marks the first week the totals are adjusted by dropping each player’s 4 worst scores and/or up to four absences. The full leader board can be seen here.

The Tour next plays at White Plains on Wednesday August 19 at 5 p.m. New players are always welcome.

Over 40 players showed up to battle it out at White Plains on Thursday night August 14, 2009! After all the scorecards were turned in,  a shootout at dusk from 100 yards was necessary. The team of (L-R) Danny Lee, Glynn Lafever, Eddie Gaw, Rob Lollar and Bernie Wickersham came out victorious with the team of (L-R) Derrek Clemcow, Harold Jackson, Slade Stroud, Lonnie Alexander and Jason Clark coming in a close 2nd. Bernie Wickersham got the prize for longest putt and Klayton Hoffman won closest to pin honors. Door prizes were also awarded to some lucky players. Be sure to come out next week and join in the fun!
