WHITE PLAINS - A tie at 8 under among three teams from the thirty-three player field resulted in a 100 yd shootout giving the win to Bob Winningham, Chris Debien, Steve Tomsic and Brent Johnson. In second was the team of Klayton Hoffman, Tyler Madden, George Rupert and Harold Jackson while Barrett Steakley, Jerry Abston, Matt Newton and Phillip Lynn finished third. COOKEVILLE GOLF CLUB – The Michelob Ultra Amateur will be played here June 27 and 28, 2009. Players of all skill levels are welcome. SOUTHERN HILLS – The Lions Club Drive for Sight Tournament held here on Saturday, June 20, 2009 was a big success, raising approximately $3,000 for their charitable vision services. Tom Irwin and the rest of the club thanks all the participants and Southern Hills Golf Course.

SOUTHERN HILLS – A field of 60 players teed it up for the Thursday Couples golf tournament played here. Three teams scored 7 under and a score card play-off gave the win to the foursome of Shannon and Ernie Maynard, and Jennifer and Lewis Wheeler. Closest to the hole at #11 was achieved by Randy Elrod.

SOUTHERN HILLS – With a field of 40 players, the Wednesday ABCD Scramble ended with two teams tied at -8 and the first place prize was split between the two teams. The winners were L-R(top photo) Jr. Parrigan, Scott Anderson, Key Haynes and Ricky Bandy and L-R(bottom photo) Jason Clark, Larry McCaleb, Charlene Rodgers and Tony Helm.

Dale “Squeaky” Myers put a shot to within 7 feet of the hole on #6 and his team made the putt for a birdie!

Scott Anderson took closest to the hole honors on #9 at only 4 1/2 feet from the pin.

26 Points and a Putt Off for Neal and Chris

BELLE ACRES – A tie at 26 points put the teams of Neal Scalf – Chris Farris vs Perry Haile – Dustin Reels in a putt off to decide the winner of the eighth week of play on the Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Lite. Perry Haile sank his second attempt to take the win for his team. Bob Underhill won the closest to the pin contest and was awarded a round of golf provided by Belle Acres Golf Course.

Four other teams posted scores in the 20′s making this the most competitive week to date of the Tour’s 16 week schedule. [Bryan Lynchard-Harold Penley 20, Sean Monday-Robert Null 21, Michael Benson-Bob Underhill 21, Bob Dillon-Lee Campbell 22] The leader board and complete scoring can be viewed by clicking here.

The Scramble Tour sponsored by Miller Lite plays the Cookeville area golf courses on a rotating basis. A random draw each week determines teams and a modified Stableford system is used for scoring. Southern Hills is the host for the June 24, 2009 event. Tee time is 5 p.m. and new players are always welcome.
