Congratulations to Trish Fielder, the first female to record a Hole-In-One at Southern Hills Golf and Country Club this year. Trish accomplished the feat June 28th, 2009 at hole # 6 usng a four iron. Her husband, Bill was the proud witness.

Large Field of Golfers for Thursday Couples

SOUTHERN HILLS – 18 Foursome competed for top honors during the Thursday Mixed Couples play at Southern Hills Golf Course. Two foursomes on each hole made the front nine packed with action. Winning with a 7 under score were Lewis and Jennifer Wheeler , Alyssa Harold and Matt Evans. Alyssa’s closest to the hole win on # 3 was a big help t the team as it led to a birdie. SOUTHERN HILLS – Four teams tied at -7 competed in a chip off to decide the winner of the ABCD Wednesday scramble here June 24, 2009. Charles Pack, Dale “Squeaky” Myers, Bobby Maynard and Ken Haynes ended up with first place honors.

Children’s Museum Golf Scramble

We golfers certainly love our game, don’t we? There’s that age-old story of a man playing a links course by the sea, getting so mad at his ineptness that he throws his clubs into the ocean, and then drowns trying to retrieve them.

That says a lot about the game and our love for it, but as much as we love the game, we still (like all sports people) occasionally like to make excuses about why we hit a bad shot or had a bad round. Fill in the blank with your favorite excuse–we all have one.

SOUTHERN HILLS – June 24, 2009.  John Trusa and Sean Monday led all teams by a wide margin after completion of the 9th week of play on the Scramble Tour here. The pair made a bogey but added 3 pars and bagged 6 birdies to total 27 points. The next best score was 21 posted by Dale Hair and Robert Null.
