The 2009 Women’s Open will be played at Stonehenge Golf Course in Fairfield Glade on July 15-18.
The tournament, officially known as The Golf Capital of Tennessee Women’s Open, has been held at Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain since locating in Crossville in 2003. The Upper Cumberland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure® recently held its annual golf fundraiser at Cookeville Golf Club. Serving the 14 counties of the Upper Cumberland Development District, the organization dedicates money raised by the tournament to improving education, screening, and treatment of breast cancer, hoping to reduce the number of late stage diagnoses. Proceeds from the tournament are expected to be between 20 and 25 thousand dollars.
The April 29th, 2009 event involved 240 players with a shotgun start in the morning and afternoon. The tournament was flighted into six groups.

White Plains Golf Course is the host for the 2009 edition of the Pacesetters Golf Scramble on May 9. The proceeds from this third annual fundraiser will benefit the children and adults with developmental disabilities that the, not for profit, Pacesetters organization serves.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with tee time set for 8:30 a.m. In addition to cash prizes there are hole-in-one prizes including a 2009 Honda, a Sharp LCD TV, Big Bertha Irons from Callaway Golf, and domestic air fare tickets for two.
Entry fee per foursome is $300.00. Businesses can sponsor two holes and enter a four-man team for $500.00. Registration forms can be found at White Plains and all of the other area courses or view and print it here. Come on out and support Pacesetters and enjoy a fun day of golf!
The Uppercumberlandgolf.com Scramble Tour announces a pre-round warmup before the 2009 season opening round at Ironwood Golf Course on Wednesday, April 29th . Grade A catering of Cookeville is providing snacks for the pre-round get together. Players are invited to enjoy the fine foods from Grade A and drinks provided by S.E.C. Enterprises and Miller Lite beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Come early, sign in, get re-aquainted with last years players, meet new players and be ready to tee at 5 p.m.

Uppercumberlandgolf.com’s Scramble Tour begins the 2009 season with play at Ironwood Golf Course on Wednesday, April 29th. Ironwood is providing a prize to the two-man winning team and there will also be something for each player from the Scramble Tour’s major sponsor, Miller Lite and S.E.C. Enterprises.
Tee time is 5 pm for the 9 hole round and players can join the league at the course before tee time. Play is open to all.
The league rotates play among the Cookeville-Putnam County area courses each Wednesday and plays a two-man 9-hole scramble format using a modified Stableford scoring system. Points are accumulated toward a season championship. More details are available at tour.uppercumberlandgolf.com .
